The sun is shining and I can feel spring right around the corner…here’s to a fulfilling, beautiful day! (And sorry for the skimpy posts lately, It’s been midterm/interview season. I promise lots décor inspiration soon!)
Since moving to new york this past fall, we’ve had a constant stream of house guests seeking a taste of the city. The ceaseless entertaining could stress out some, but I truly love having an excuse to act like a tourist (sans shame).
This weekend I’m looking forward to museum-hopping, trekking across town for a shake shack burger or ruben from katz’s, strolling around central park, and taking on the night with some of my greatest friends. Here are a few spots I may visit during my manhattan stay-cation…
Cobalt (or royal) blue has to be one of my favorite colors, both in fashion and decorating settings. The rich tone works well year-round, and has a sophisticated yet fun feeling. I’m not sure I have the nerve to paint a whole room cobalt blue, yet I love the idea of incorporating the color into my life with clothing and smaller home accessories.
February 14th comes with flowers, cards, chocolates, extravagant displays of romance…or the un-necessary call to attention that you are not in a couple (as in my case). We get it, you’re happily in love.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against the holiday—I’d just like to feel involved somehow. So to all the singles of the world, as well as the cheeky couples: please enjoy the following vomit-free valentine’s day messages, compiled with love from me to you! ♥
This week, I’m experiencing something I could’ve done without: life in enemy territory following a hometown team Superbowl loss (for those of you who don’t know me, I’m a Bostonian who lives in Manhattan). And there’s going to be a parade, too?! Ick. So as a pick-me-up, I’ve rounded up a few interiors that are bright, vibrant, and happy—the complete opposite of the feelings evoked regarding the Pats.
Can you believe it’s February already?? As the first month of 2012 quickly came and went, I found myself reflecting on all of the significant life changes I’ve gone through lately: quitting my job to move to a new state, finding a new apartment, exploring a new career path, and a getting to know a whole new city!
